Nally's Cider (Invercargill)

Characteristics: An effervescent cider made from selected Central Otago apple varieties to give the right balance of flavour and bite. The juice is extracted using the traditional rack and cloth method, then fermented and conditioned for at least six months to mellow. Served chilled.
Color: Pale straw
Alcohol: 5% by volume
Apples: Blend of Braeburn and Granny Smith

A brief history of flip-top bottles

Cassels & Sons use “flip-top” bottles; the classic flip-top was invented in 1875 by Nicolai Fritzner in Germany, who solved the existing problem of making beer bottles with their high interior pressure ready to transport. It quickly became the main bottle-top for beer bottles worldwide. After only 30 years, the flip-top started to be replaced by the "Crown Cap", which was invented by the American William Painter in 1892.

Neudorf Ale (Moutere Brewing)

German settlers arrived in Upper Moutere in 1843 and after a rough start, settled Upper Moutere, then called Sarau, in 1850. Cordt Bennseman started building the Moutere Inn in 1850 as a resting place between Richmond and Motueka - in the heart of the new hop growing area.

Neudorf Ale is an Altbier and is similar in style to an NZ draft or ale. It's malt driven, copper brown and has a low hop profile.

Rex Attitude (Yeastie Boys)

They said it couldn't be done, that it would be undrinkable, that we couldn't use more than 5% heavy peated malt in a beer. So we carefully considered their advice and went with 100% instead. Rex Attitude is inspired by French techno and the whisky of Scotland's west coast. like the 'Auld Alliance' it combines a little Scottish rogue with a dose of French 'je ne sais quoi'.

Weka Apple Cider is made from 100% Nelson grown apples.  Fermented with French Oak at cool temperatures to preserve the fruit flavours and crispness on the palate.
Weka Apple Cider has a typical green apple aroma and the clean refreshing taste is finished nicely with medium sweetness.

Singer-songwriter from Lyttelton. Plays guitar, piano, ukulele, banjo, harmonica, mini drums, kazoo. Has supported Tenacious D, Greg Johnson, Billy Bragg. Performs nearly 100 shows per year for the past couple of years (see the doco Figure 8000 for a taste). Former front-man for 90s glam rock band The Puffins.
