hāpi (loan) (noun) hop, Humulus lupulus – a climbing plant the ripe female cones of which are used to give a bitter flavour to beer. Kaua hoki e wehewehea te hoatutanga o ngā mea ki roto i te pāta, engari kia kotahi tonu te hoatutanga tō te wai, tō te hāpi, tō te huka.Do not put the ingredients into the pot in stages but add the water, hops and sugar in one go. - MāoriDictionary.co.nz
Hāpi Daze is a work in progress. Ultimately the aim is to brew a really nice sessionable caramel blonde ale, assertively hoppy without being overly bitter and with a light fruity character (someone described the version we dropped to Hashigo as being peachy). This version was brewed to a higher alcohol that we ultimately envision for the beer, but we liked it and judging by the feedback we had, so did you.
