Clear reddish-copper tinge underneath a soft white head that is taking its time to ebb away leaving good lace. It smells fresh and citrusy tangerine and lemon with grassy notes. For all the good in the aroma, there just isn’t an enormous amount of it. IPA’s these days seem to be full, grassy alcoholic monsters. This seems more like British IPA’s that I have had. Ones that rely more on their flavour to do the talking for them. So let’s see: The first impression is fluffy carbonation and tangelos. The citrus endures and takes a tangy bitterness with it to the sides of the tongue. There’s nothing wrong with this beer and I’ve had the odd session with this taking a starring role. The question is whether it stands up to the scrutiny of style guidelines in an age where sticking IPA on your bottle mean s sticking two fingers up at authority in general. I’m voting with my mouth. This is very nice beer.
