From the brewer: I really like strong flavoured cheese, salami, olives, roast dinners, medium rare steak and pickled onions. This ale is designed to accompany these kinds of foods, which are essentially country fare. With its full flavour it is a beer that can be enjoyed on its own or as an accompaniment to your own favourite meal.
"Tasted on tap at Pommeroy’s, handpull. Warm nutty brown-amber in colour under a tight white collar of head that lasted to the bottom of the glass. Good malt driven aroma of thick brown sugar, walnuts and malt biscuits. Similar flavours upon tasting, sweet and full with lots of body but not a great deal of bitterness. I did like this beer and my offsider and I went back for seconds, but sadly it sent my blood-sugar through the roof. Probably worth it though."
