Mustang A.P.A is our hand-crafted Ale with intense hop bitterness, character and aroma derived from superb New Zealand Hops & Malt. Hop bitterness is typically in the range of 40-50 IBU. The rich copper colour is derived from imported speciality Ale Malts to give a beer with a colour of around 20- 25 EBC.
Pours golden amber with a good head on it that seems to be leavng lace on the glass. Aromas arestrongly of malt, blueish cheese, caramel and biscuits. Nutty and lovely. I was expecting more hop aroma from an APA, but this still smells lush and inviting. Sweet at first, second and third. The label says 40-50 IBU. I think not and not by a long chalk. I’m not exactly accusing the brewer of a misrepresentation, but I was expecting something seriously bitter which I haven’t got in my hand. Malty and toffeeish, full bodied and silky. A tinge of bitterness on a long lingering finish.
