A big, smooth and characterful ale.
“Slightly hazy rich amber colour with a persistent white collar of head. Poured way too cold off gas-flow (when will people disregard traditional public ideals for serving temperature?). From what I was able to garner about the aroma there was orange blossom, caramel and golden syrup. In fact the aromas tend along two directions: floral and malty. This isn’t bad, in fact it is quite charming. The flavour is fresh, keen and of tart juicy fruits and flowers. A real summery ale to taste with a concomitant light body. There is a good twinge of astringent bitterness which seems to carry to a puckering finish.”
